IS JUST BELIEVING ENOUGH ?

Last week I was visiting a friend who had just had a friend of theirs Die. I expressed my condolences and to my surprise my friend said that the whole thing was made even sadder because her friend did not " believe ".
I was struck there and then with the truth that salvation is not just about believing, even The devil believes in Jesus and he is most certainly not saved. God expects far more from us than to just believe he wants us to have a living vital relationship with him that we refresh and renew daily .
If we just walked past our husbands or our children each day at home and only ever smiled and tipped our hat at them we would never really know them, the would just be people who we knew by sight but we would never know their true heart or ant intimate details of them, Same too with Jesus , once we get to know him, It is then that we are truly saved.
Life can be so much better than it is right now just by renewing your mind daily in the word of God , Even just one simple verse read in the morning can be enough to transform the day ahead of you and change your perspective on the day.

LUKE 13: Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?"He said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.'

"But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'"Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'"But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'

Acts 16 : They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole family.

1 peter 4

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. 5But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. Jude 1:21
  1. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Janelles Economical Spaghetti sauce 2 ways

I make this when I have to feed a crowd or want a spare meal in the fridge : We had it last night when the kids had friends over , nothing better than yummy pasta, great teenagers and God at the dinner table with us all.
This will feed 8 then there is enough left over for the second dish;

500g mince beef
1 lge zucchini
2 carrots
2 sticks celery
2 garlic
2 onions
fresh herbs
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 jar pasta sauce
1 can tomato puree
1 cup white wine
1/4 cup milk
salt, pepper
water

Put all vegetables and herbs in a food processor and mice up; Fry in a heavy based pot in olive oil; add meat; fry up till all meat is brown; Add milk ( this stops the acid from the tomatoes making your sauce bitey ) add wine ; Add all other ingredients; simmer for 1 1/2 hours, the key is the milk and the slow simmer.
Serve with pasta.
You will have half the sauce left which you will then refrigerate, when it is cold you can make my Cannelloni.
